Software for accounting firms that runs the month for you
Next to their accounting software, accounting firms usually lack three things: a portal for collecting client documents, an overview of every client's deadlines and a way to share work across the team. Tsunami Digital, a software studio in Zagreb, builds them to measure, alongside the program you already use, so month-end close is no longer buried in client e-mails.
Overview
An accounting firm is really a production line: dozens or hundreds of clients, each with their own bank statements, purchase invoices, travel orders and payroll changes, all due by fixed dates. The accounting package does the bookkeeping well. What it does not do is collect documents from clients, show which client is late, or tell the office manager who is overloaded this week. That part usually lives in e-mail, phone calls and a shared spreadsheet.
We build that missing layer: a portal where clients drop their documents, a board that shows every client's status against the month's deadlines, and tools that spread work across the team. It is not worth building if you have a handful of clients, or if a ready-made app for bookkeeping offices already fits the way you work - we will say so on the first call. It pays off when you have grown past the point where one person can keep the whole month in their head.
Where it hurts
- Every month we send the same e-mail to forty clients asking for bank statements and purchase invoices.
- Documents arrive as phone photos on WhatsApp, and someone has to rename and file each one by hand.
- Nobody can say at a glance which clients are ready to close and which are still missing paperwork.
- When a colleague is off sick, the rest of the team does not know where their clients stand.
- We have no idea which clients take three times the hours their monthly fee covers.
What we build for accounting firms
06- 01
Client document portal
Clients upload statements, invoices and receipts from a phone or browser, and see a clear list of what is still missing for the month.
- 02
Deadline and status board
Every client on one screen, with VAT returns, payroll and annual filings due, and a status your whole team can read at a glance.
- 03
Automatic client reminders
Polite reminders go out on their own when documents are late, and stop the moment the client uploads them.
- 04
Team workload planning
Who looks after which client, how much is open per person this week, and a clean handover when someone is away.
- 05
Time per client
Simple time tracking against each client, so you can see which monthly fees still cover the work and which need a conversation.
- 06
AI document sorting
An AI agent reads incoming e-mail attachments, matches them to the right client and document type, and leaves the final check to your staff.
How we work together
-
One month-end, mapped
We sit with your team through a real month-end close: how documents arrive, where they get stuck and which steps are repeated for every client.
-
Pilot with a few clients
We launch the portal and status board with five to ten willing clients first, fix what they trip over, and only then invite the rest.
-
Roll-out to all clients
We add the remaining clients, move reminders and deadlines to the new tool, and train your staff on the screens they will use daily.
-
Your development department
After launch we stay on a monthly basis: maintenance, new filing deadlines when regulations change, and the next tool your office asks for.
No project price list. A fixed price before we start.
Every project is different, so the price depends on what you need and how much of it. The first call is free of charge, and you always get a fixed price in writing before any work starts - no surprises.
- 01The first call is free and commits you to nothing
- 02You get a fixed price in writing before work starts
- 03You own the code and data once the work is paid for
- 04Hourly work and extra developers: €40-60 per hour
- 05After launch: software maintenance and development, monthly

Questions
-
01 What software does an accounting firm need?
The foundation is an accounting program for bookkeeping, VAT and payroll. A firm that serves many clients also needs a portal where clients send documents, an overview of deadlines and status for every client, and a tool for sharing work across the team. That part usually runs on e-mail and spreadsheets; we build it to measure, alongside the program you already use.
-
02 Do you replace our accounting software?
No. The bookkeeping stays in the accounting package you already use and trust. We build the work around it - document collection, deadlines, reminders and team planning - and it works alongside the tools your office already has.
-
03 How are our clients' financial documents protected?
Documents are stored on servers in the EU, access is limited by role so each client sees only their own files, and every upload and download is logged. We sign a data processing agreement with you, since you remain the controller of your clients' data. If you need specific retention rules, we build them in.
-
04 Will clients actually use a portal?
They will if it is easier than e-mail. That is why uploads work from a phone camera, without a new password to remember, and the client always sees a short list of what is missing. Clients who keep sending e-mail can still do so - the AI sorting puts their attachments in the same place.
-
05 How much does software for an accounting firm cost?
The price depends on scope - how many clients, which parts you need first and how your office works today. That is why we do not publish a price list. The first call is free, and the price is agreed in writing before any work starts.
-
06 Can we start small?
Yes, and we recommend it. Most offices start with the document portal and status board for a few clients, see how the month runs, and add workload planning or AI sorting once the first part has proved itself.
