Software for food producers, from field to customer
Software for food production and agriculture: we build batch tracking, production logs and ordering portals for farms, wineries, dairies, bakeries and processors that have outgrown paper and spreadsheets.
Overview
Food producers keep more records than most businesses: what was sown or bought, which batch went into which product, temperatures, cleaning, who received what and when. EU food law (Regulation 178/2002, Article 18) expects every food business to know where each input came from and where each product went - one step back, one step forward. In many family producers that chain still lives in notebooks, HACCP folders and a spreadsheet, and pulling it together for an inspection or a customer complaint takes a day. We build software that records it as the work happens, on a phone in the field or a tablet in the plant, and finds a batch in seconds.
The other half is selling. A producer that supplies shops, restaurants and hotels usually takes orders by phone, WhatsApp and e-mail, then retypes them into delivery notes. An ordering portal with each buyer's own prices fixes that. Do not build custom for standard farm records or subsidy paperwork - good farm management apps already exist and are cheaper. Custom pays off where your process is your own: your recipes and batches, your buyers, your delivery routes.
Where it hurts
- When a buyer asks which batch of milk went into a cheese, we spend the morning going through notebooks.
- Restaurants send orders by WhatsApp late at night, and in the morning someone retypes them into delivery notes.
- Every buyer has a different price and we keep the price list in our heads.
- Temperature and cleaning records are on paper, and before an inspection we check that nothing is missing.
- We sell from the farm, at the market and online, and never know exactly how much stock is left.
What we build for farms and food producers
05- 01
Batch tracking
Every input, batch and shipment linked, so you can trace a product back to its raw material and forward to the buyer in a few clicks.
- 02
Ordering portal for buyers
Shops, restaurants and hotels order online with their own prices, minimum quantities and delivery days, and orders arrive ready for picking.
- 03
Production and field logs
Simple phone and tablet forms for field work, recipes, temperatures and cleaning, filled in where the work happens instead of on paper.
- 04
Delivery planning
Daily delivery lists and routes built from confirmed orders, with delivery notes generated automatically.
- 05
Direct sales web shop
A shop for selling to consumers, with seasonal products, pickup or delivery slots and stock shared with your wholesale orders.
How we work together
-
One season, one product line
We follow one product from raw material to delivery, look at your notebooks, forms and order messages, and agree which records matter most.
-
Records first, then selling
We usually start with the record that hurts most - batches or orders - and keep the first version small enough to use in the busy season.
-
Tested on the floor
The people in the field and the plant test the forms with gloves on and patchy signal, and we fix what slows them down before the full rollout.
-
Your development department
After launch we stay on a monthly basis: new products, new buyers, seasonal changes and fixes, so the software grows with the business - your development department without hiring one.
No project price list. A fixed price before we start.
Every project is different, so the price depends on what you need and how much of it. The first call is free of charge, and you always get a fixed price in writing before any work starts - no surprises.
- 01The first call is free and commits you to nothing
- 02You get a fixed price in writing before work starts
- 03You own the code and data once the work is paid for
- 04Hourly work and extra developers: €40-60 per hour
- 05After launch: software maintenance and development, monthly

Questions
-
01 Can the software work in the field without a good signal?
Yes, if we design it that way from the start. Forms can save entries on the phone and send them when the signal returns, which matters in orchards, vineyards and barns. We test this on your actual locations before rollout.
-
02 Do we need custom software if farm management apps already exist?
Often not for the farm records themselves - ready-made apps cover fields, work and subsidy paperwork well and cost little. Custom software makes sense for what those apps do not know: your recipes and batches, processing, your buyers and their prices, deliveries. It can work alongside the tools you already use.
-
03 How does batch tracking help with inspections and complaints?
When batches, inputs and shipments are recorded as the work happens, you can show where a product came from and who received it within minutes, instead of reconstructing it from paper. That is exactly the one step back, one step forward chain that EU food law expects. The records are only as good as the entries, so we design forms that are quick to fill in.
-
04 How much does software for a food producer cost?
It depends on the scope - which records, how many products and buyers, whether there is a web shop or an ordering portal. That is why we do not publish a price list. The first call is free, and the price is agreed in writing before work starts.
-
05 Can EU funds cover part of the cost?
Sometimes. Digitalisation calls for small businesses and agricultural programmes open from time to time, each with its own rules and deadlines. We can prepare the technical description of the software for an application, but we do not promise funding - check the current call before planning around it.
Where does your batch or order trail break?
Tell us how an order travels from your buyer to the delivery van. The first call is free, and the price is agreed in writing before any work starts.
Completely free. No commitments.
